One agent is a worker. A fleet is a shop. I split only when research should not deploy, or when retrieval, writing, and review fight in one prompt. Each specialist is small. They share a goal and a memory. Extra agents add extra failure at the handoff, so the default is still one operator.
More than one agent only when one worker would hold too many keys.
